Catch Up at West End

I can barely contain my excitement for this one. Please watch my video of the 3rd Beyond Vision Catch Up event, held in West End, Brisbane, on Friday the 2nd of August 2024. I would love to hear what you thought of the video to, so feel free to share your thoughts in the comments. Enjoy!
Now for the entertainment! We had two wonderful performers; our first musician is a young man named Henery who is an aspiring 12 year old vocalist with a set of pipes on him that you will not believe. Henry has been singing since he was 6 years old, he is a member of QLD young voices show choir and a soloist with Buttery Music School. Henry has recently started songwriting and loves to share his voice with everyone!
Our second performers, Artemii and Amalia, are brother and sister and are both classically trained in multiple instruments including piano, accordion and flute. If this isn’t enough, our dynamic duo are also skilled in composing and creating classical vocal arrangements that, when heard, your spirits will lift to new heights. Hi everyone it's Peter here and I'm welcoming you to the third video, this time we're focusing on something really important mental health did you know that half of all Australians will face mental health challenges sometime in their life for those of us who are blind or vision impaired the risk of loneliness is even higher especially since the pandemic in fact loneliness affects one in three people in Australia with serious impacts on physical and mental health but when we come together we create a community where everybody feels valued and supported today we're celebrating the connections and bonds that makes the Beyond Vision community so special let's dive in.
It wouldn't truly be a Beyond Vision catch up without entertainment so here's our first performer young Henry he's only 12 years old have a listen to this kid he is a superstar
[Singing]
[Kieran] Henry he's got a hell of a voice he remembers all all the songs if had any compliment or instrument incredible!
[Peter] We had no idea what to expect from our second performance Amalia and Artemii who are brother and sister they completely blew us away have a listen to these guys
[Music]
[Vada] The highlight of the day for me was watching all the different musicians they were just fantastic to listen to and even the Young singer he was fantastic like singing Adele and wow
[Singing]
Yeah it was a really nice feel good day
[Steve] Steve the songs and people play and exciting fun, completely agree the food was good too how's good food pretty nice
[Music]
(Vanessa) I really liked all the entertainers really the bica that really got me you don't hear them very much I've never seen one I always wanted to see one, I like the flute too
(Peter) what about the accordion?
(Vanessa) yeah that was good too
(Peter) yeah maybe you want to get up and a bit of a dance maybe
(Vanessa) yeah thanks it was a good day
[Singing]
(Shri) it was absolutely magical to see because I didn't have any expectations, I am an international student here so I'm living far away from home I wanted to come to this event to put myself out there and see how it is to build friendships as I said absolutely magical because just by the river side there was some beautiful music I was just closing my eyes and enjoying the music and speaking to people these small moments I will carry in my life

(Peter) thank you for watching my video once again I would really like to emphasise the importance of connection and community and the fact that if you come along to a Beyond Vision catch up that's exactly what you're going to get. If you know someone that is lonely if you yourself are lonely and just wanting to get out of the house and wanting to meet people that are going to be kind and genuine, then these outings are really where you are going to find them.
