A mixed bag of fun today, starting with the grand opening of the Victoria Park markets, followed by a faultless cup of joe at The Brew, CBD, and capped off by a captivating guided tour from Oscar at the City Hall museum.

(Oscar) Well hi everyone my name's Oscar I'm from the Museum of Brisbane at City Hall. I was just going to talk to you briefly about all the tours that we offer every day.
So at 10:30 and 11:30 every day we have a 45-minute tour that takes you all around the City Hall building, it goes again for 45 minutes I just said that I know, but you can see a lot of different things is that this building has a very long history and it has a lot of sort of strange stories behind it that you can check out all around the place.
At 11 every day we have a tour of the museum that goes for half an hour it takes you around each of the rooms and we can we really get the chance to tell our favourite parts, our favourite stories from around the museum there's lot to see there as well
Now on weekends from Friday to Sunday we also have another City Hall tour at 1:30 although on occasion that will be a ESL tour, so for example we'll do it in Spanish or Chinese some of the time so I would always check just at the Museum of Brisbane website at museumofbrisbane.com.au regarding the sort of when stuff are on because that can never hurt cuz we also sometimes have different tours that'll only show up on the website.
Now my favourite fact around Brisbane that's a hard one, although I really sort of love how Brisbane sort of accidentally became the capital city of Queensland. It was never really meant to stick in Brisbane because of course Brisbane is wedged down the corner, but every attempt they had of sort of changing the capital didn't go anywhere. So over the years they sort of just gave up trying to move it from Brisbane and Brisbane just sort of stuck.
There's a quote from the separatist AJ, AG Stevens I think he said something along the lines of referring to Brisbane "would you think anyone was very smart if they told you the best place for all the blood to flow would be if the heart was in the left toe" [laughter]
You know, you can see that at the time Brisbane wasn't exactly a very popular city but it's really grown into something that I think is pretty nice at the moment so
